Description
Lyme disease and its co-infections are often missed due to outdated or narrow testing protocols. Standard two-tier tests (ELISA followed by Western blot) only screen for limited strains and often produce false negatives—especially in chronic or late-stage Lyme.
IGeneX ImmunoBlot technology solves this by:
- Using recombinant proteins from multiple Borrelia species and strains, including those common in both North America and Europe.
- Improving accuracy and early detection across infection stages.
- Replacing up to 8 traditional Western blot tests with one expanded and highly specific panel.
This test assesses for Lyme, Babesia (a blood-borne parasite) and Bartonella (a bacteria that can cause vascular and neurological symptoms). Babesia and Bartonella are the most common and clinically significant co-infections. These infections often act synergistically, worsening inflammation and slowing recovery if unaddressed.
Accurate diagnosis is a key step in building an effective protocol. Knowing whether an infection is active (IgM) or chronic (IgG) helps us prioritize treatment timing, decide when to pause other detox work, or when to initiate antimicrobial or immune support strategies.
